STUDENT BUILT – THREE SHELTERS
Three inspiring student built projects need a new home, and our goal is to help them find a home sooner rather than later (so their prices are reduced). Why? With the Outdoor Commons building project slated to break ground in late September, we need to make room for all things bulldozers to paving bricks. Dreamed of a sauna? Have timbers on your mind? Now’s the time!

NORWEGIAN KNIVES
Aug 10-14
Internationally recognized knife maker, Gene Tokheim, will be on campus in early August leading a workshop on knifemaking. The look, feel and function of a traditional Norwegian knife are legendary.

CLEAN SWEEP – BROOM MAKING
August 27-28
Get sweeping! Brooms have been used for centuries to clean our homes, but they haven't always come from a hardware store. Four spots remain.

TWO ON FIRE FOR LABOR DAY
Two new courses have been added to the North House calendar over Labor Day weekend, and both feature fire at their core:
** Whole Grain Sourdough Bakery – Sept 2-3
** Raku Pottery – Sept 3

Quote of the Month
=======================================

For porcupines, past, present and future, who, in the act of foraging for inner bark, yield bone-dry standing dead spruce and tamarack through the North. Countless trail stoves have been fed this finest of firewood, while the bodies and spirits of untold snow walkers warmed. Our gratitude is boundless.
